Re: Dreamweaver CC 2014 unbelievable slow processing changes

Gordon,

If you have the newer Google Analytics script analytics.js in your file, no matter where it is placed in the file, DW 2014.1 cannot handle it efficiently.  It takes forever to load the file.  The new web engine in DW 2014.1 was built without Adobe doing proper research as to where Google Analytics was headed (i.e. moving away from ga.js and going to analytics.js).  And the irony is, the new web engine is Chrome based.  A prudent designer would stay away from ga.js, even though it loads fast in DW 2014.1 because GA is going to whack it in the not so distant future.  That said, a lot of sites still have the old ga.js in them because GA moved to the newer script not long ago.

Anyway, I just sent an email to Subhadeep inquiring as to when the bug fix for analytics.js will be rolled-out.  Those of us who have abided by the dictates of GA and moved over to analytics.js are hopeful that the fix comes before, as they say, Christmas; yet, I think it will be a lump of coal in our stocking.

See entire discussion at Why does DW CC 2014.1 Fluid Grid load HTML file that contains Google Analytics Tracking Code script so slowly?
