I posted a few days ago saying that deleting the preview files seem to be excellent short-term solution to fixing the crash problems with Premier Pro. today I was working on a comparable machine that had no issues with it whatsoever. there was no need to rendering anything in that project while I was working on it. then clients arrived and there were a few hiccups on playback so I decided I should render the sequence. A couple minutes later, I had huge freeze frames on playback, and PP crashed. I deleted the preview files and premiere work just fine again without crashes. So for me at least, rendering seems to be the enemy.
This is all on 2010 or so mac pros with the latest release of premiere Pro. I should add that I've been trying to sway this company to switch over from FCP 7 to premiere Pro instead of FCP X or avid, and this is not helping the cause at all.
