I found my personal work-around:
A) You click the clip with the broken audio, so that it displays in the source monitor.
In the source monitor the audio plays back nicely (it is the audio on the timeline that is corrupt).
B) You then place the player head in the timeline at the beginning of your corrupted clip.
C) You drag the source monitor video and drop it on sequence monitor (i.e. you overwrite the old video clip).
D) Strangely, you don't loose the filters you might have applied already. You only lose the transitions.
I don't know why, but it works.
