Not sure what support you contacted to get that info but it should work fine on Business Catalyst. Should not matter where it is hosted as it isn't the host that determines which version you get with a Muse site. It's the browser. The Business Catalyst site uses a different device detection method and unless you manually turned it on in the BC Admin it should not effect your Muse site.
Have you perhaps adjusted the page width settings in your site properties?
