Re: How to best make a multi cam sequence out of 5 cameras turning on and off randomly?

I do this all the time in CS6, and it's no big deal. Maybe the non-automated work flow will work for you.

Put everything in one timeline. Put the A-cam clips on the first video track, then place B on track 2, and so forth. I just throw everything in, then sync, but you might want to sync as you add tracks. The synching is tedious, but it shouldn't really take very long.

When everything is good and in sync, I alt-select all the video tracks(not the audio), then right click and nest. Now you can right click and enable multicam, and you can now edit in the multicam window.

For the audio tracks, I first mix them without cutting, then nest them for convenience in editing.

The only gotchas here are that you really need to verify that the tracks are in sync before you nest the video, and sometimes you have to render the audio before the timeline will play.
