It's unfortunate considering that I'm impressed with the PE thus far and yet a codec like H.265, which has been around for a year, hasn't been integrated with the product. This can create a case for people to leave Premiere altogether considering the benefits behind H.265. Even a simple, free program like Handbrake supports H.265... now what do you do with it if you can't edit it in PE?

You have my curiosity up!

Of the 30 or so NLEs (video editing programs) on the market, I'm failing to find any that support HEVC/H.265.  Which ones have you found that will do it?

Apparently, HEVC/H.265 needs hardware encoders.  I read least week that Intel has started offering new firmware for some of their CPUs.  Have you upgraded you computer's CPU firmware?  Do you have a TV or media player with a H.265 encoder?

And, Handbrake?  Are you using it to trim or split clips and put titles, transmissions, color corrections or music in your videos? When you get an edited H.265 video out of Handbrake, what can you play it on?  Can I play it on my tablet or phone?

Thanks.

Bill
